Squaw's Renaissance
The 2012-13 winter season marks year two of the Renaissance. Originally this was a five-year, $50 million capital improvement plan to dramatically improve Squaw Valley alone. With the addition of Alpine Meadows our Renaissance will now total nearly $70 million in improvements to both resorts by winter 2015-16.
For 2012-13, we've added a new high-speed six-pack lift, retail locations, enhanced snowmaking and introduced Burton's Learn to Ride Program.

Revamped High Camp Area
Big Blue Express, a high-speed six-pack chairlift, will provide easy access to the Shirley Lake, Solitude and Granite Chief chairlifts. The former Links, now a triple-chair named Mountain Meadow, will be realigned and provide a more suitable learning area with a better fall line for our beginner skiers and riders. More »
Improved Snowmaking
To ensure snow surface conditions regardless of Mother Nature’s plans, a variety of system-improvements including the installation of new fully automated guns, rebuilding of pumps and compressors, and installing control equipment will ensure the best possible snow surface from top-to-bottom. More »
Olympic Plaza Bar
Legendary Olympic Plaza Bar will be completely remodeled and feature table service dining in an upscale ‘mountain contemporary’ atmosphere. The redesigned Olympic Plaza Bar will pay tribute to the resort’s Olympic heritage. More »

Burton Learn to Ride Center
Burton’s LTR program is designed to make learning to snowboard fun and easy by combining proven teaching methodologies with beginner-specific equipment. LTR teaching methodologies help new riders to learn to make and connect turns faster – making for a great first time experience on the hill. More »

As brilliant blue skies and warm temperatures return to the Sierras, Squaw Valley prepares to open for summer 2013. This summer brings a variety of outdoor activities including base area paintball, roller skating, geocaching, disc golf, hiking, scenic Aerial Tram rides and the High Camp Pool and Hot Tub. With incredible views of Lake Tahoe in a pristine alpine setting, Squaw Valley is the ultimate destination for this summer's big adventures.
Thanks for joining us this season. The highlights were many. From an opening day in October to the US Alpine Championships. We've put a few of our favorite moments together in the video above. We hope you'll enjoy reliving some of the season. We'll miss skiing and riding but will content ourselves with hiking, biking, Lake Tahoe, golf, kayaking, and enjoying these majestic mountains. The 23rd Annual Cushing Crossing will be the best event of the spring season. The original pond skimming event that started a spring resort ritual. Every year we gather a celebrity judging panel and amazing emcee's for this spectacle. Filled with big spills and laughable thrills this is one spring event that you don't want to miss.
Registration for this event is $20 and is limited to 50 entrants. Lift ticket not required for entry.
