Seasonal Weather Returns, Then More Cold and Snow Possible /

Submitted by ba December 11, 2013 - 7:29am Weather

After 2 feet of snow and some of the coldest air in years last week we are now experiencing more seasonal temps and drier conditions.

The storm track has shifted back to our North into the Pacific NW and Western Canada.  A ridge of high pressure off the West Coast will keep us dry this week and part of next week.  Then the ridge is forecast to shift NW into Gulf of Alaska.  That will drive another cold trough down the West Coast by next Thursday.  That would bring a return of cold air and a chance for snow.  It's way too early to know how much snow could fall, it would depend on how much the trough can dig over the ocean as opposed to land and how much moisture it can pull in.

For now we have highs in the 40's and lows in the teens and single digits.  Beautiful weather for skiing the new snow from last week and all the man made snow as well.  Stay tuned for updates on the potential pattern change next week...BA
