This week will start with mild temps with highs in the 50's. A weak system will drop down to our East later in the week which should bring in slightly cooler air. Highs by the end of the week may only be in the 40's. The nights are still cold and snowmaking continues.
We are still not in range of any storms to talk about them specifically. The European forecast model continues to try and push a storm through the ridge into CA next Tuesday. The GFS forecast model keeps the system to our North. I usually won't look at any storm specifics until it is at least within the 7 day window. That will be tomorrow but we need to wait for some other forecast models to agree with the European.
The long-range runs of the forecast models over the past week have been showing the ridge departing the West Coast by the end of the month. That continues today. We don't know if that will mean we see big storms, but it is a pattern change to a pattern that brings a better chance of storms than a big ridge parked over the West Coast.
